Exit West

Nearly 20 years after the Syrian Civil War began, millions of people have lost their lives and millions more have been forced to flee their homes. Nadia and Saeed, a young couple in this war-torn city, are in love. They struggle to reunite with each other despite the hostilities around them. When they attempt to leave Syria—or "exit west," as they call it—they realize that once they cross the border into Turkey, they will have to travel through mountains where people are hunted and killed for food by desperate refugees. It will be hard to stay together in this inhuman world.
