At the age of 22, Cheryl Strayed lived a life many would not have predicted. Although she was only 22 years old when her mother died, her family scattered across the country and her own marriage fell apart, Cheryl was soon forced to hike more than a thousand miles of the Pacific Crest Trail. With no experience or training, driven only by blind will, she would hike alone from the Mojave Desert through California and Oregon to Washington State—and she would do it in three months time.
