Tender Is the Night

Tender Is the Night is a tragic romance set on the French Riviera in the late 1920s. It follows the young actress Rosemary Hoyt and the stylish American couple Dick and Nicole Diver as they fall in love, get married, and have a kid. Dick, who's a psychiatrist when they marry, soon realizes that Nicole's wealth isn't doing either of them any good—that is, it certainly isn't doing him any good. He gets so wrapped up in his new role as a doctor that he forgets about being a husband. But Nicole, who's growing stronger all the time, soon begins to resent his behavior, and she ultimately leaves him for another man.
