Some Hope

Patrick Melrose's third novel, fresh from its sea-bath, wallows at a glittering party in the English countryside. Amid a swarm of flying socialites, his quest for atonement and forgiveness is tested by his observations of the cruelties that surround him. Can he, who has travelled to the farthest limits of experience—and returned—find liberation from the savagers of his boyhood, armed with his razor-sharp wit and an insatiable thirst for the pleasures of life?
