Necessary People

Stella, the flashy Georgetown grad and vivacious North Carolina native, has always been the social butterfly, charming everyone from her sorority sisters to the photographers on the red carpet. But Violet, the quiet southern girl from Charlotte who attended a state school and is more comfortable staying behind the scenes, has never had a problem with letting Stella take center stage. That is, until she ends up living one of Stella's stories. Toiling away in an entry-level position at CNN, Violet discovers that she shares a name with an heiress of a major international hotel chain; and worse yet, this heiress has also been charged with murder. When Violet pitches the story at work, only to have it stolen by Stella, she's forced to make a choice -- whether to yield to Stella's superior charm and ambition or hold on to her integrity by refusing to let her former best friend stand in her way.
