Description
Based on the true story of Little House author Laura Ingalls Wilder, this first book in the award-winning Little House series was originally published in 1932. It introduces us to four-year-old Laura and her family, who live in the Big Woods of Wisconsin in 1871. They share a log cabin with their dog, Jack. Pioneer life is hard for them, since they must grow or catch all their food as they care for their farm. But they make the best of every tough situation, enjoying Christmas with homemade toys and treats and doing their spring planting. When winter comes, they harvest their crops and go into town together. And every night, safe and sound in their little house, they enjoy music by listening to Pa's fiddle.
