Die Trying

Three guys approach a dentist in his office parking lot in a Chicago suburb and order him into the trunk of his Lexus. Jack Reacher, who never leaves a place without knowing everything about it, has noticed that there are no cars on the street and no people in any of the houses or offices. The situation is odd, to say the least. He wonders who would kidnap a dentist, and why. He wishes he could have had more time with her, but, as always happens in situations like this, he must follow her wishes.
