Anne of Green Gables

Anne of Green Gables—a Canadian classic by Lucy Maud Montgomery—is considered a coming-of-age, romance novel. The orphan Anne Shirley, who is sent to live with elderly siblings Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert in Prince Edward Island, Canada, is often rude and makes an effort to fit in. She changes from a headstrong girl into a modest young woman who understands her impulsive behaviors.
