Captive Genders

Captive Genders: Trans/Gender Non-Conforming Prisoner Writings and Art explores the experiences of trans and gender non-conforming people who face extreme discrimination and assault in prisons today. The book, co-edited by Eric A. Stanley and Nat Smith, is an exciting new assemblage that traverses the complicated entanglement of surveillance, policing, imprisonment, and the production of gender normativity.
