Beloved Demons

Martignetti (Lunatic Heroes; Bite Marks, etc. ) recounts his life from childhood to his twenties, including the death of his mother, a career in the legal profession, and numerous relationships. Interspersed are vivid descriptions of his alcoholic father's atrocious behavior, and his own fight against alcoholism. Martignetti shares the details of a young couple's murder-suicide, and tells how he was saved by a cat named Mochajava. While he explores his relationship with his father—a “difficult man” who was “harbinger of chaos”—Martignetti also showcases his love for animals.
