The Dream Machine

J. C. R. Licklider was a visionary, who saw the power of personal computing and communication before nearly anyone else. He worked tirelessly to spread his ideas to both industry leaders and academic researchers, and is credited with helping start many of the advances that are now fundamental to modern computer science. With a life dedicated to the pursuit of innovative ideas, he deserves an important place in history next to Steve Jobs, Bill Gates and other giants in computing.
