Diana Henry wrote her first menu while she was in high school. Menu planning is still her favorite part of cooking. Menus can create very different moods; they can take you to different places, from an afternoon at the seaside in Brittany to a sultry evening eating mezze in Istanbul. They also have to work as a meal that flows and as a group of dishes that the cook can manage without becoming totally stressed. Diana Henry loves writing about food and has written for numerous newspapers and magazines in Great Britain and the United States (including Bon Appetit) about dining out or cooking at home or on vacation. She lives with her family near Bath, England. The 24 menus and 100 recipes in this book reflect places Diana loves, and dishes that are real favorites. Each menu is a story in itself, but the recipes can also stand alone.
