Throughout his 60 years, Christopher Hitchens has lived in many countries, including the United States and the United Kingdom. He has been a socialist opposed to the Vietnam War, as well as an advocate for the war on Islamic extremism in Iraq. He has been a foreign correspondent in dangerous places, such as the front lines during conflicts in Israel and Lebanon; he has also been a literary critic who spends his time enjoying alcohol and books. He is an atheist, raised by a Jewish mother whose heritage was not revealed to him until her suicide. In other words, Hitchens lives life to the fullest. He sees all sides of every argument, and believes that the personal is political. This is the story of his life.
